Everybody's organizing!

My favorite store is the Container Store. I can stay in there for hours! Anything you can think about organizing, a solution for it is in that store. I had a long talk with myself about all my "stuff". I asked myself, "Do I need to keep it, donate it, or throw it away?" Everything isn't worth buying a container to put it in. Sometimes you can organized too much stuff like I did. I had over a hundred pairs of shoes. The exact number is not important.(smile) All the shoes were organized in clear cute shoe boxes. Some of the shoes I hadn't even worn before. I bought them because they were on sale or they were so cute I would one day buy something to wear with them. Who did I think I was, Carrie on Sex in the City? I really didn't need all those shoes! So I reduced my shoe collection down to 50 pair. Now when I buy shoes I get rid of the same number I bought. I really have to work at this in every room in my house. You have to decide how much "stuff" you want in each room. And when you reach that limit, STOP! You don't have to take everything someone gives you. If you don't have the room for it or you just don't want it say so. Clutter is not good for anyone. I don't want to discourage anyone from organizing. I know that shopping and planning how you going to do it can be fun. But organizing can be expensive! So take time to think about the things you need to keep and organize and separate the things you need to get rid of. If you do this first, you will save space and money!

The Home Manager

The Home Manager can be a male or female. If you're a working mom and your husband or significant other doesn't work or has more flexibility they can be the home manager. The bottom line is someone needs to do it. And if you live alone you're it; if you don't hire someone. I wanted to create this part of my blog because this is an area I'm working on perfecting. If that's possible. As an entrepreneur and a single mom I have so much to manage. Entrepreneurship has so many ups and downs. And this can weigh on you mentally and emotionally. And the last thing I need is for the affairs of my home to be all over the place. I want to take you on my journey for total home management. I am determine to make my home run as smoothly as possible. I talk to so many women that are overwelmed with the things they have to do at home. These women are single as well as married. Don't be so hard on yourself. You can't be everything to everybody everyday. You will drop the ball somewhere. I give myself permission to drop the ball. I can't say I don't get disappointed. But I don't dwell on what I could or should have done. I focus on what do I do now. And after the problem is solved I look at what I can do to limit the possibility of it happening again. And please believe the person that's looks most together is probably not behind closed doors. I'm always looking to improve myself and my home. And I believe that if I want God to bless me with more I've got to be able to manage what I have!
